Alicia began her design career at Pasadena City College while taking classes in Fashion and Marketing and Screen Printing.
Alicia is a native of California and earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in Graphic Design from The Art Institute of California. From early on in her career, Alicia always had an eye for branding which is why her degree focus was on Corporate Branding, Packaging and Dimensional Design.
In Alicia’s 15+ years in the graphic design industry she has served many roles, in addition to the creative aspects she has also found success in sales and management. From the toy industry, where Alicia has worked on campaigns for New York Toy Fair and San Diego ComicCon to the Medical Device industry where Alicia has created strong private label products, packages, and brands.
In 2016, Alicia moved from her home in Southern California to the up and coming Arts District of Downtown Las Vegas. This move not only inspired Alicia creatively, but ignited her passion to help new and independent businesses continue to grow and develop. Throughout her career Alicia has always made time to aide these independent business owners when it comes to their branding, social media, and marketing campaigns. These clients have included restaurants, hotels, retail, and not-for-profit companies.
Building on her success in Las Vegas, Alicia joined MGM International’s internal agency, working on promotion and branding for many resorts and restaurants along the Strip. However, COVID-19 devastated the city she had grown to love. Still, the pandemic couldn’t stop her creativity. Now residing in Hawai‘i, Alicia has established Hawaii Barber Studio with her wife—her business partner, who is originally from Oahu. The people and culture here have inspired her both professionally and personally—she’s even joined a canoe club! She has built a strong local clientele while continuing to provide consulting and graphic design services for organizations on the mainland.
